SRO Job Posting

The Houghton County Sheriff’s Office is accepting applications for a School Resource Officer (SRO).  The SRO will act as a liaison between the Houghton County Sheriff’s Office and the Calumet Laurium Keweenaw (CLK) Schools.  The SRO will also work with the school administration and faculty to ensure the safety and well-being of the students as well as develop safety plans and programs for the school.  The SRO participates directly in the educational training and activities of the students and staff.

The successful candidate must be energetic, self-motivated and goal oriented.

This SRO is a seasonal position and will follow the work calendar of the CLK school district to include summers off.  Pay will be negotiated on experience and background.

Applicants must be a minimum of 21 years of age and possess a valid Michigan driver’s license.  Applicants must also be MCOLES certified or currently certifiable, pass a background investigation and a drug and alcohol screening.
