The Houghton County Work Camp located on the Houghton County Airport property is a 26 bed minimum security facility. This open bunk dormitory requires inmates to handle their own laundry and to keep there bunk area orderly.

The Work Camp is designed for inmates who are approved by the Jail Administrator or Sheriff to be released to continue their employment. This requires a contract to be signed by the employer and for the inmate to be a non-violent offender and drug and alcohol free. Inmates are subject to random visits and PPT testing. The cost of the program is $105 per week. The inmate is also responsible for their own transportation to and from work.

The Work Camp offers in-person visitation on weekends only and are scheduled by the inmate between the hours of 1:00 pm to 4:30 pm.
