Missing Person Rescue

On 8/23/2022 the Houghton County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a missing 20-year-old Hancock Township person.  The individual was enrolled in the Houghton County Project Lifesaver Program. 

 Deputies arrived on scene and located a signal with the project lifesaver equipment.  Deputies, began tracking the signal and located the individual after 28 minutes, covering a distance of approximately .7 miles through wooded, hilly terrain. 

 The Houghton County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Michigan DNR / Conservation Office, Michigan State Police Calumet post, and Station 80.
